Smooth brome Sava

A Polish Standard for Forage Production

The smooth brome variety 'Sava', developed by the plant breeding center Malopolska Hodowla Roslin-HBP, stands as a benchmark in European grassland agronomy. Created by Polish experts, this variety was designed to meet the agricultural demand for a stable, long-lasting forage crop capable of performing efficiently under the variable climatic conditions of Central and Eastern Europe.

Agronomic Profile and Resilience

Unlike more sensitive forage grasses, 'Sava' demonstrates a high level of adaptability to diverse soil types. Its key features underscore its practical application in modern farming:

• Stress Tolerance: The variety exhibits excellent resistance to drought periods and harsh winter temperatures, which is critical for perennial grassland maintenance.
• Regrowth Intensity: Following cutting or grazing, the stand recovers rapidly, ensuring consistent yields throughout the entire growing season.
• Nutritional Value: The variety is optimized for producing high-quality hay and haylage with an ideal protein-to-fiber balance, directly supporting higher livestock productivity.

The reputation of Malopolska Hodowla Roslin-HBP as a leading player in the Polish seed market guarantees rigorous quality control for all planting materials. By selecting 'Sava', farmers gain a balanced solution for establishing long-term seeded meadows and pastures that require less frequent reseeding and maintain their productivity over many years.
