RAJAH is a diploid red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) variety, characterized by intermediate maturity and late flowering time. The plant stem is of medium length, leaflets are short and narrow, and the inflorescences are red in color. The seeds of the variety are purple. Thanks to its late flowering, the variety can be effectively used in the spring period, which expands its application possibilities in agriculture.
The RAJAH variety differs in high yield and disease resistance. In the Central region, the average yield of dry matter is 45.8 c/ha, which is 1.8 c/ha higher than the standard. The maximum yield was recorded in the Bryansk region and reached 89.1 c/ha, exceeding the standard by 7.6 c/ha. The protein content in the plant is about 18.5–22%, which ensures a high level of nutritional value. Protein collection reaches 9.1 c/ha, which also exceeds average indicators.
RAJAH has high resistance to sclerotinia and nematodes, which ensures its reliability and longevity in various climatic conditions. The variety has successfully proven itself even in colder regions, such as Sweden, where the yield exceeded the indicators of other varieties. The high content of dry matter contributes to an increase in protein content, which makes RAJAH a valuable choice for fodder production and improving fodder quality.
