Smooth brome Suzette

Sustainable Forage Production with Brome Grass 'Suzette'

Smooth brome grass 'Suzette', developed by the Danish company DLF, is the preferred choice for agronomists focused on establishing long-lasting pastures and hayfields with high nutritional value. In the face of unpredictable weather patterns, this variety demonstrates exceptional winter hardiness and the ability to recover rapidly after intense grazing or mechanical mowing.

Why Choose 'Suzette' for Your Forage Program

• Resilience in Tough Conditions: With a deep root system, 'Suzette' efficiently accesses moisture from deep soil layers, making it highly drought-tolerant.
• High Yield Potential: This variety produces a dense stand suitable for both high-protein hay production and silage.
• Longevity: With proper management, the stand maintains productivity for 5–7 years, significantly reducing the costs associated with frequent reseeding.

Practical application scenario: Ideal for establishing grazing land for cattle and horses. 'Suzette' is known for its excellent palatability, ensuring consistent intake by livestock. It shows vigorous early spring growth and continues to perform well in late summer, effectively bridging the seasonal gaps in a farm's feed supply.

When used in grass mixtures, 'Suzette' blends well with legumes to create a nutritionally balanced diet. DLF’s Danish breeding program ensures superior seed germination rates and purity, which are critical factors for establishing productive, long-term grassland.
