Smooth brome TOBOL

Siberian breeding for a resilient lawn

The 'Tobol' smooth brome cultivar is the result of long-term research conducted by the Tyumen Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Developed to thrive in harsh Siberian climates, this variety uniquely balances exceptional winter hardiness with high aesthetic quality. It has established itself as one of the most sought-after grasses for creating stable, long-lasting lawns in northern regions.

Biological protection and reliability

The primary advantage of 'Tobol' lies in its natural resistance to pathogens that typically plague cereal grasses. Thanks to its genetic profile, the cultivar shows minimal susceptibility to helminthosporiosis and root rot, even during seasons characterized by excessive moisture. This characteristic significantly reduces the need for fungicide treatments, which is critical for maintaining ecologically safe lawn surfaces.

Application and utility

'Tobol' is firmly established in both professional and residential landscaping sectors. It is highly recommended for:

• Establishing durable park lawns capable of withstanding moderate mechanical traffic.
• Soil stabilization and slope reclamation, thanks to a deep, aggressive root system that prevents erosion.
• Landscaping in challenging soil and climatic conditions where standard lawn mixtures fail to establish.

With vigorous early-stage growth and an excellent capacity for vegetative reproduction, this cultivar is a top-tier choice for projects that require low-maintenance care while maintaining a lush, professional appearance.
