Kostretz is a fast-growing grass plant that is often used in landscape design thanks to its decorative appearance and resistance to various soil conditions.
Kostretz seeds have high germination rates on many types of soil. When planted, they sprout quickly, and the powerful creeping root system actively loosens the soil and improves its structure. That is why the plant is often used for slope stabilization: its roots hold soil masses in place, preventing erosion.
Kostretz is highly drought-resistant and does not require fertile soil. Minimal care is the main advantage: during very hot weather, moderate watering can be applied, but excess moisture is harmful, as the plant prefers dry soil. The grass needs to be mowed only once per season; it is important to do this in early autumn, otherwise the plant will not be able to survive the winter, and the coverage in the following year will be irregular.
