Smooth brome Kazanova

Engineering the landscape: 'Casanova' brome grass

Innoseed b.v. (Netherlands) breeding in the ornamental grass sector focuses on creating highly stable sward structures. The 'Casanova' brome is a specialized variety where genetic architecture is dedicated to landscaping applications with minimal maintenance requirements.

Biological resilience as a foundation for longevity

A key advantage of this variety is its phytosanitary resistance, specifically to powdery mildew. In high-density planting conditions typical of ornamental lawns, pathogens spread rapidly across leaf blades. Innoseed b.v. breeders have reinforced the plant's cell wall defense mechanisms, preventing fungal colonization even under high humidity or crop density. This eliminates the need for frequent fungicide applications, which is essential for professional landscape architecture projects.

Agrotechnical advantages

• Morphological uniformity: The variety ensures sward uniformity, which is critical for the visual aesthetics of decorative areas.
• Adaptability: Dutch breeding is inherently focused on temperate climate regions, ensuring consistent decorative quality during both active growth and moderate stress periods.
• Purpose: An optimal choice for parterre and garden-park lawns requiring dense turf and resistance to external environmental factors.

Technically, 'Casanova' functions as an autonomous system: intensive tillering ensures rapid sward closure, while the robust root system maintains soil stability, preventing erosion on slopes or high-traffic areas. By selecting this variety, landscape designers secure a predictable outcome in the form of a durable and visually appealing green cover.
