Smooth brome Mustang

Maximizing Forage Yield with «Mustang» Brome

«Mustang» bromegrass, developed by the German breeding experts at Feldsaaten Freudenberger GmbH&Co.KG, represents a premium solution for farmers looking to establish long-lasting, high-yield meadows and pastures. Known for its robust growth habit and structural integrity, this variety is engineered to thrive under intensive management regimes.

Operational Use in Farm Management

With plant heights ranging from 150–180 cm, «Mustang» is designed for maximum biomass production without sacrificing nutritional quality. Farmers integrate this variety into their crop rotations for several key practical purposes:

• Hay and Silage Production: High leaf-to-stem ratio ensures that the harvested forage remains nutrient-dense, making it an excellent base for winter feed.
• Grazing Systems: The variety shows vigorous regrowth after grazing, allowing for optimized rotational stocking rates.
• Erosion Control and Land Reclamation: Its deep and expansive root system is instrumental in stabilizing soil on slopes and preventing erosion in sensitive areas.

One of the standout features of «Mustang» is its reliability under climate-stressed conditions. While other forage crops might struggle during dry spells, this variety maintains its growth momentum, providing a consistent harvest where other grasses would fail.

Why Choose Feldsaaten Freudenberger?

Opting for «Mustang» is an investment in longevity. A well-established stand can remain productive for 5–8 years or more, significantly reducing the labor and seed costs associated with frequent reseeding. Its strong competitive ability against weeds further minimizes the need for chemical intervention, promoting a more sustainable and cost-effective approach to grassland management. By choosing this German-bred variety, you are ensuring that your forage land performs at its peak potential for multiple seasons.
