Description
Bromus inermis ARGONAVT (Bromopsis inermis Leyss.) – an agricultural commodity used in agronomy for soil improvement, fertility enhancement, and weed control. This variety is part of field care measures and is distinguished by its technological suitability, resistance to lodging, and high productivity.
The selection sample 4‑2‑20 has a medium-late vegetative period from emergence to seed maturity – 97–114 days. Over six years, the green mass yield was 23.3 t/ha, which is 9% higher than the standard Langepas (21.1 t/ha). The average dry matter yield reached 8.9 t/ha, and in favorable years – 9–10 t/ha. Plant height during cutting ranges from 121 to 148 cm, and leafiness from 37% to 45%. Dry matter content ranges from 34–42%, crude protein from 6.2–14%, and fiber from 29–35%. The average crude protein collection over six years was 0.88 t/ha, which is 17% higher than the standard.
Morphological traits include an erect bush of medium density with round hollow stems without pubescence. Nodes are dark green, leaves are green and waxy-free, and the ligule is blunt and short. The inflorescence is an open panicle, loose, light brown, and awnless. Agrobiological data confirm high dry matter yield (27.9 c/ha) in the West Siberian region and absence of disease damage during trials.
ARGONAVT is recommended for mowing and pasture use, as well as for seeding special lawns and reclamation of disturbed lands due to maintained productivity with age. Its technological suitability and resistance make it a valuable resource in the agricultural sector.
