Smooth brome SIBERIAN 7

Resilience and Productivity: The Core of "Sibirskiy 7"

The awnless brome grass variety "Sibirskiy 7" is the product of extensive selection work by the Siberian Federal Scientific Center for Agrobiotechnologies. As a perennial grass, it has solidified its position in agricultural systems where winter hardiness and rapid regrowth after harvesting are paramount. Developed to address the challenges of forage production, this variety exhibits high adaptability to various soil types, making it a versatile tool for both permanent pastures and high-quality hay production.

Agronomic Profile and Disease Resistance

In the field, "Sibirskiy 7" stands out due to its robust phytosanitary profile. It possesses genetically ingrained resistance to key cereal pathogens that typically limit forage productivity: helminthosporiosis, brown rust, and septoria. This inherent resistance allows farmers to reduce their reliance on fungicide applications. The plants reach a height of 80–100 cm, and under optimal cultivation practices, the yield of dry matter (hay) ranges from 8 to 10 tons per hectare.

Versatile Applications

• Forage Production: Its high nutritional value and excellent palatability make it a preferred choice for dairy and beef cattle production.
• Pasture Use: The perennial nature of the variety and its rapid regrowth cycle allow it to withstand heavy grazing pressure.
• Turf and Landscape: Due to its dense sod-forming habit and resistance to trampling, the variety is also utilized for erosion control, land reclamation, and utility landscaping.

"Sibirskiy 7" represents a commitment to stability. In unpredictable climatic conditions, this variety guarantees a reliable outcome, serving as a dependable, long-term solution for forage needs.
