Smooth brome Rassvet

Siberian Breeding for Reliable Forage

The 'Rassvet' brome grass variety is a product of the Siberian Federal Scientific Center of Agrobiotechnologies (RAS). Developed to withstand challenging environmental conditions, this variety has established itself as a reliable solution for agricultural enterprises focusing on consistent forage production.

Technical Specifications and Field Performance

Primarily designed for forage purposes, 'Rassvet' balances yield with critical disease resistance. A notable advantage of this variety is its inherent resistance to helminthosporiosis, which significantly improves the quality and shelf-life of the harvested hay.

• Growth Habit: Reaches a height of 135 cm, making it well-suited for standard mechanical harvesting operations.
• Yield: Average hay production is recorded at 3.73 tonnes per hectare, providing stable output for hayfields.
• Management: High vigor ensures rapid regrowth after cutting, which is essential for maintaining productive long-term stands.

Choosing 'Rassvet' is a practical strategy for farmers looking to maintain productive pastures and hayfields over several years. Its ability to outcompete weeds due to its stature, combined with its resilience against common fungal pathogens, makes it a staple in northern agricultural forage portfolios. This variety represents the classic Siberian approach to plant breeding: durability, functional height, and predictable results in harsh climates.
