LYALYA is a perennial fescue (Festuca rubra L.) characterized by the reddish tint of its leaves, caused by anthocyanins, and a high productivity level. The variety is hexaploid, which ensures resistance to adverse climatic conditions and allows for the rapid formation of a dense, long-lived turf. Thanks to its high hardiness, the plant retains its green color even during cold periods, while its moderate resistance to rust and snow mold makes it an ideal choice for lawn use.
LYALYA features a medium height and a semi-erect growth habit. The leaves are long, narrow, and medium green without whitish spots, giving the lawn a neat and tidy appearance. The plant quickly establishes in the second year after planting, and its early spring emergence and ability to recover quickly after mowing make it convenient for maintaining a decorative landscape.
For successful cultivation, LYALYA requires a sunny location with good drainage. It suits both sandy and loamy soils; loose, light soil with sufficient humus content is preferred. Care for the plant is simple: removing withered leaves in spring and pruning after flowering. Thanks to its cold resistance (down to –30 °C) and mowing tolerance, LYALYA is easy to maintain in shape and provides an aesthetically pleasing lawn throughout the year.
