Fescue LYALYA

Siberian Breeding for Resilient Lawns

Red fescue variety 'Lyalya' is a product of the Tyumen Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Developed by a research team led by Tatyana Lipovtsyna and Yuri Leonidov, this variety was specifically engineered to thrive in harsh climates where standard lawn grasses often fail after severe winters.

Key Advantages of 'Lyalya'

• Disease Resistance: One of the standout features of this variety is its high resistance to snow mold. This makes it an ideal choice for regions with long-lasting snow cover, reducing the risk of fungal damage.
• Ornamental Qualities: 'Lyalya' is prized for its consistent, rich green color, maintaining a lush appearance throughout the growing season.
• Application: Its ability to form a dense, durable turf makes it suitable for both professional park landscaping and private residential lawns.

Choosing 'Lyalya' means investing in longevity and structural integrity. Unlike many imported varieties that may struggle with local environmental stressors, 'Lyalya' demonstrates remarkable stability, proving the effectiveness of the Siberian breeding approach in modern turfgrass management.
