DescriptionVolzhanka
Sea Honeysuckle (Aruncus dioicus) is a highly decorative perennial reaching heights over 2 m. Flowers in white or yellow-cream tones bloom from June to July and remain visible for 30–40 days. The plant tolerates cold winters well and does not require snow cover; young plants are preferably mulched with dry peat.
For successful cultivation, prepare fertile, moist, and loose soil. Planting is done in a 50 × 50 cm container at a density of 1–2 plants/m². Sea Honeysuckle prefers moderate watering, especially on hot days, as well as regular feeding with manure, peat, or complex fertilizers (Alonet, Osmocote). After flowering, it is recommended to cut back the plants and cut off shoots in autumn.
In landscape design, sea honeysuckle is widely used for lawns, water body edges, and creating living fences. It pairs beautifully with cotoneaster, barberry, euonymus, ferns, and other perennials, adding rich texture and vibrant color accents.
