Fescue NALCHICK 1

Technical profile of the fescue "Nalchikskaya 1"

This variety is the result of breeding work conducted by the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Federal Scientific Center 'Kabardino-Balkarian Scientific Center of the RAS'". The primary goal in developing this hybrid was to ensure stable productivity under variable climatic conditions.

Functional features

• Universal application: The variety demonstrates adaptability both in hay meadow management and pasture creation. This allows agricultural enterprises to optimize crop rotation by utilizing a single crop for various purposes.
• Biological plasticity: Developed by Russian researchers, this variety is optimized for efficient nutrient uptake from the soil during the early spring period, which is critical for achieving an optimal first cut volume.
• Technical efficiency: The plant features a balanced stand structure, which facilitates mechanized harvesting and green mass drying, minimizing losses during hay or haylage production.

The engineering approach to this selection lies in the rigorous screening of genetic material that provides resilience against temperature fluctuations in steppe and forest-steppe zones. Utilizing "Nalchikskaya 1" enables farmers to mitigate the risks of forage shortages through predictable regrowth dynamics following mowing.
