Fescue GREENMAIL

Technical Profile of «Greenmile» Tall Fescue

The «Greenmile» tall fescue variety from the Danish breeding house DLF is engineered specifically for industrial applications. As a product of Dlf Seeds A/S, it embodies advanced selection criteria, focusing on resilience, biomass quality, and consistency under varied environmental pressures.

Core Engineering and Botanical Solutions

• Root Architecture: The variety features an aggressive root system designed for deep penetration. This biological design provides superior drought tolerance and soil structural support, which are vital for industrial-scale consistency.
• Tillering Intensity: The growth habit of «Greenmile» creates a dense, uniform sward that naturally inhibits weed encroachment, reducing the reliance on chemical inputs and maintaining field purity.
• Quality Control: The genetics of «Greenmile» are stabilized to ensure high uniformity in biochemical properties, facilitating standardized processing cycles at the industrial level.

Implementation and Seeding Strategy

To maximize the technical performance of «Greenmile», precise agronomic management is required. The recommended seeding rate is 2–2.5 g/m². This density is specifically calculated to balance inter-plant competition, ensuring that each individual plant has sufficient resources for optimal vegetative development. The high germination energy of this variety allows for predictable maturity schedules, enabling more efficient planning for harvesting and downstream industrial processing.
