Fescue BLENHAIM

Blenheim Fescue: The Danish Standard for Professional Lawns

When it comes to creating a dense, stress-tolerant turf, the choice of seed material determines the long-term success of the project. Blenheim, a Chewings fescue variety from DLF, is the result of extensive breeding by leading Danish experts (originators Advanta and DLF Seeds). This variety is rightfully considered a benchmark in the fine fescue category.

Key Advantages

• Superior Turf Density: Due to its specific growth habit, the variety forms a dense stand that effectively suppresses weeds, leaving them no room to establish.
• Adaptability: Blenheim performs exceptionally well both as a monoculture and as a key component in complex grass mixtures. It possesses strong disease resistance, which is critical for professional use.
• Aesthetics and Maintenance: Its fine leaf texture creates a premium "carpet" look. The variety tolerates moderate mowing well, maintaining a vibrant color even under low-maintenance conditions.

Who Is This For?

Blenheim is the optimal solution for landscape designers and property owners looking for a long-lasting, high-quality lawn. It is perfectly suited for park areas, private estates, and sites that require a balance of visual appeal and moderate wear tolerance. Its high tiller density makes it an excellent choice for regions with variable climates.

Seeding Recommendations

To achieve a uniform and dense cover, it is essential to follow the recommended seeding rate of 30–40 g/m². Proper soil preparation combined with adherence to these rates allows Blenheim to establish a robust root system quickly, occupying the site efficiently and minimizing the need for future overseeding.
