Orchard Grass BIRSKAYA 1

A reliable choice for forage production and landscaping

The «Birskaia 1» variety is the result of breeding work by the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It has established itself in the niche of multipurpose perennial grasses. In intensive farming, the key advantage of this variety is a predictable green mass yield of 5-6 t/ha, making it highly demanded in crop rotations for establishing long-lasting hayfields and pastures.

Agrotechnical features and application

• Forage use: The variety shows excellent palatability for livestock. Due to its medium tillering type, the sward forms a dense turf that recovers quickly after intensive grazing or mowing.
• Landscaping: The biological properties of the plant allow it to be used for greening areas that require rapid turf formation. High adaptability to diverse climatic conditions ensures the survival of crops even with limited maintenance.

When selecting «Birskaia 1», agronomists prioritize reliability. The variety does not require specialized cultivation techniques; standard fertilization and irrigation practices allow for consistent achievement of the stated yield figures. For farms practicing mixed cropping, this variety of orchard grass serves as an optimal component, enhancing the structure of the grass mixture due to its ability to actively regrow at the beginning of the growing season.
