SEVEROKUBANSKIY 280 MV — this is a medium-early three-line hybrid of corn (Zea mays L.) with FAO 280, possessing high stress resistance and adaptability to various climatic conditions. The plant is of medium to high stature with wide, straight leaves and a cylindrical ear of medium thickness and length. The grain is intermediate type with yellow coloring on the upper part and yellow-orange on the lower. The vegetation period ranges from 92 to 120 days depending on the region, making the hybrid suitable for late sowing and various cultivation technologies, including conventional, minimal, strip-till, and No-Till, as well as for irrigation. The hybrid is characterized by high yield and stability. In the Central Chernozem region, the average grain yield reaches 84.8 c/ha, in the Lower Volga region — 52.9 c/ha, and in the Ural region — 26.5 c/ha, significantly exceeding the performance of standard varieties. Maximum yields in individual trials reached 128.2 c/ha. The grain moisture at harvest is at an optimal level, facilitating storage and processing. The recommended seeding rate varies from 60 to 70 thousand plants per hectare depending on soil moisture. SEVEROKUBANSKIY 280 MV exhibits good resistance to a range of diseases and pests. The hybrid is resistant to southern gummy spot, slightly affected by ear borer and smut, but susceptible to ear bacterial and fusarium diseases. It also shows severe damage from stem borer.
