DB Hotin

Corn DB Hotin is a medium-early simple modified hybrid widely used for grain production. The plant reaches a height of 230-240 cm, has a red stem, and a conical-cylindrical ear of 22-24 cm in length, attached at a height of 85-95 cm. The ear contains 16-18 rows of yellow-orange kernels, sometimes with red tints. The hybrid is characterized by a high grain yield — 82-86%, making it one of the leaders in productivity among similar hybrids. DB Hotin is distinguished by high resistance to adverse weather conditions, including frost, drought, and sharp temperature fluctuations. Due to its dent-type kernel, this hybrid does not suffer from moisture loss. The plant does not bush and is resistant to lodging, which simplifies harvest and improves grain quality. Yield potential varies by region: in the steppe zone, it reaches 8-9 t/ha, and in the forest-steppe zone — 11.5-12.3 t/ha. The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe. The optimal plant density at harvest time is 90,000 plants per hectare in Polissia, 75-80,000 in Forest-Steppe, and 50-55,000 in Steppe. Corn seeds of DB Hotin are treated with Maxim HL and Vaybrans, ensuring additional protection and quality of planting material. The hybrid is registered in the Ukrainian variety registry since 2015 and enjoys well-deserved popularity due to its low maintenance requirements and stable yield.
