KHBODAR KHARKIVSKYI is a high-yielding triticale variety intended for food and fodder use. This variety is characterized by large light-red grain with high kernel weight (628-692 g/l) and a mass of 1000 seeds of 44-50 g. Plants reach a height of about 112 cm and have a medium-early vegetation period of about 103 days. The variety is characterized by high drought resistance, main diseases, including powdery mildew, ergot, and hard spikelet, as well as medium resistance to lodging and absence of grain shedding, which facilitates harvesting and improves crop quality.
Flour from triticale KHBODAR KHARKIVSKYI has excellent baking and mixing properties, which makes it in demand in baking and confectionery production. Protein content in the grain varies from 13.2 to 15.1%, and raw gluten from 24 to 27%, which ensures high-quality dough and a voluminous bread yield up to 510 ml. Glutinous falling number is 211 s, indicating good elasticity and strength of flour.
The variety has a high yield potential of 4.6 to 6.8 t/ha, which makes it promising for cultivation in various agroclimatic zones, including Forest-steppe and Northern Steppe. Thanks to its biological and economic characteristics, KHBODAR KHARKIVSKYI is successfully used not only for the production of environmentally clean food products, but also in the technical sphere, for example, for obtaining alcohol and starch, as well as as a fodder crop.
