LEADER 250 SV

Corn LEADER 250 SV is a medium-early three-line hybrid F1 with FAO 250, intended for silage and grain use. Plants of medium height reach 200–240 cm, have curved leaves of medium width and ears of weakly conical shape, 22–25 cm long, with 16–18 rows of kernels. Grain is intermediate, closer to dent type, with yellow upper part. 1000 kernel weight is 270–320 g. The vegetation period of the hybrid is 105–110 days, ensuring medium-early maturity of the crop.

The hybrid is characterized by high dry matter yield — on average 101.6 centners per hectare, an increase over the standard by 10.3%. Maximum yield reached 245.7 centners per hectare. According to the developer, grain yield on dry land is 60–70 centners per hectare, on irrigated land — 90–110 centners per hectare, and green mass without irrigation — 400–500 centners per hectare, with irrigation — up to 900 centners per hectare, with a high proportion of waxy ripe ears. Average dry matter content in the region is 36.8%, and grain yield after threshing — 78–82%.

LEADER 250 SV has resistance to southern helminthosporiosis and very low susceptibility to common smut. However, the hybrid is severely affected by bacterial ear rot and Fusarium ear rot, as well as significant damage from corn stem borer. Recommended planting density is 60–65 thousand plants per hectare on dry land and 80–90 thousand plants per hectare on irrigated land. Features of the tassel structure, anthocyanin pigmentation, and other morphological traits ensure the hybrid’s adaptation to the Central Chernozem region.
