The 'Moorings' crabapple variety is an early-autumn variety bred at the All-Russian Research Institute of Horticulture and Nursery Production in Moscow. The tree is characterized by restrained growth, reaching a height of 2-2.5 meters, with a spreading or weeping crown of medium density. Fruiting begins as early as the 2nd-3rd year after planting, indicating the variety's high precocity. The crabapple is distinguished by high frost resistance and good winter hardiness, making it suitable for cultivation in the central regions of Russia and some adjacent areas.

The fruits of the 'Moorings' variety have medium or below-medium size, a light cream base color with a bright cherry blush. The taste of the apples is sour-sweet, making them universal for various uses: fresh consumption, canning, and drying. Ripening occurs from the end of August to the end of September, although the storage period is relatively short. The crabapple is distinguished by high and regular yield, ensuring a stable harvest every year.

The variety is self-sterile, so for successful fruiting, pollinators are required. Despite high resistance to frost and winter conditions, the crabapple has medium resistance to scab, which requires attention to care and protection from diseases. In general, 'Moorings' is a reliable variety with good yield and fruit quality indicators, suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions.
