Apple variety Kopeyskoe is an autumn dwarf tree bred at the South-Urals Research Institute of Horticulture and Potato Growing by crossing the varieties Uralskoe nalivnoye and Vydubeckaya plakuchaya. The tree reaches a height of up to 2.5 meters and has a rounded, moderately dense crown. The leaves are of medium size and light green color. This variety is distinguished by high early fruiting, usually bearing fruit 3-4 years after planting.
Fruits of the Kopeyskoe variety are of medium size, weighing on average about 72 grams, while the largest reach 94 grams. The apples are round with greenish-yellow skin, which acquires a yellow tint with a blush in a cool summer, and orange-red in a hot one. The pulp is dense, juicy, greenish in color, sour-sweet, without pronounced aroma. The content of dry matter reaches 14.3 %, sugars – up to 11.8 %, acids – about 0.5 %, pectin substances – up to 10 %, ascorbic acid – 12.4 mg per 100 g.
The apples ripen in the second half of September and can be stored for up to one and a half months, which allows their use in fresh form throughout the autumn period. The variety is characterized by medium yield, about 30.9 tons per hectare, resistance to scab, and high winter hardiness, withstanding frosts down to -35°C. Thanks to these qualities, Kopeyskoe is suitable for cultivation in the central region of Russia and the Urals region.
