Fujiion (Fujion) is a new Japanese selection variety, a clone of the popular Fuji variety and possessing its best characteristics. The tree is medium-sized with a spreading crown and easily shaped. It begins fruiting early and produces abundant, stable yields annually without periodicity. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness, heat and drought resistance, as well as resistance to pests and diseases, allowing successful cultivation in various climatic conditions, including all regions of Russia and Ukraine.
Fujiion apples have the characteristic appearance of the Fuji variety: round, slightly elongated shape and large size, weighing approximately 200-230 grams. The apple skin is green, almost entirely covered with a deep, rich red blush with distinct stripes. The flesh is dense, juicy, crisp, greenish in hue, with a mild, rich, sweet flavor due to high sugar content. The apples have a strong aroma, excellent taste and commercial qualities, and they withstand transportation well, retaining freshness and attractive appearance during storage until late spring.
Harvesting begins in October and is conducted in two stages: first, 70-80% of the fruit is collected, and the remaining fruit is harvested a week later. To maintain harvest quality, it is recommended to prune trees carefully to avoid a large number of small and medium-sized fruits, as well as preventive treatments against diseases and pests. Due to its excellent storability and high productivity, the Fujiion variety is one of the best for fresh consumption and has high market value.
