Successful germination requires specific temperature ranges, usually between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius. Maintaining sparse planting density is essential to provide adequate air circulation and prevent overcrowding of the rosettes.

Native to the Mediterranean region, this species prefers open, sunny locations. It is commonly found in rocky terrains, dry grasslands, and alongside roadsides, showcasing its ability to thrive in challenging environments.
