Seed propagation is best carried out in late winter or early spring in a greenhouse environment. The seeds should be surface-sown on a light, well-draining seed compost and barely covered with grit or sand.

Seedlings are pricked out into individual pots once they are large enough to handle. Maintaining a temperature around 15–18°C is ideal for initial growth before the hardening-off period begins.

Transplanting into the permanent garden site occurs in late spring. It is essential to choose a location that mimics the plant's natural rocky habitat to ensure long-term survival.

Vegetative propagation via soft-wood cuttings is also effective. Cuttings taken in early summer are placed in a coarse rooting medium and kept in a shaded frame until roots are well-established.

This species is native to the rocky landscapes of the Middle East. Consequently, it requires full sun exposure for at least six to eight hours a day to prevent legginess and promote flower bud formation.

The soil must be alkaline, gritty, and exceptionally well-draining. This plant is sensitive to "wet feet," meaning it will quickly succumb to root rot in compacted or moisture-retentive soils.

Watering should be sparse. During the growing season, only moderate irrigation is required. Once the plant is established, it becomes highly drought-tolerant, requiring almost no supplemental water.

Winter protection is necessary only in climates with excessive freezing rain or prolonged wet spells. Providing a dry, sheltered environment is more important than protection from extreme cold alone.

Fertilization should be kept to a minimum. A slow-release, low-nitrogen granular fertilizer can be applied in early spring to encourage steady, compact growth without excessive vegetative lushness.

The primary threats to Dianthus juniperinus are fungal diseases such as fusarium wilt and stem rot, which are almost exclusively triggered by high soil moisture levels or poor drainage conditions.

Pests like spider mites and aphids may inhabit the plant during heatwaves. Regular monitoring and the application of insecticidal soaps or systemic treatments can effectively control these populations.

Rust fungi can occasionally affect the foliage during humid periods. Preventive measures include ensuring good spacing between plants to maximize airflow and removing any debris around the plant base.

Root-knot nematodes can weaken the plant by attacking the root system. Proper crop hygiene and avoiding areas previously contaminated by these pests are essential preventive practices.

Mechanical damage from weeds or intense traffic should be avoided. The plant does not respond well to competition, so keeping the area around the base clean is crucial for health and vitality.
