Wheat of the 'Zdrava' variety is a medium-maturing spring variety of spelt, characterized by its dwarf stature and high yield. The vegetation period lasts 92-99 days, allowing the variety to ripen 2-3 days earlier than the standard 'Runo'. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 31 to 34 grams, and the yield on experimental plots reached 22.4 c/ha, which is 5.4 c/ha higher than the benchmark variety. The protein content in the grain ranges from 18.4-19.5%, and vitreousness is from 85 to 91%, indicating high grain quality.
The 'Zdrava' variety possesses high resistance to a wide range of diseases, including solid and dusty bunt, brown, yellow, and stem rust, powdery mildew, Fusarium head blight, as well as field resistance to Septoria and viral infections. Thanks to these characteristics, the wheat is suitable for ecologically clean and dietary production, making it in demand for pediatric and gerontological nutrition. The sowing rate is 4-5 million viable seeds per hectare, which ensures optimal development of the crop.
Wheat 'Zdrava' is a valuable source of energy due to high carbohydrate content, such as sugars, fiber, and starch. Products made from this wheat have a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract, stimulating intestinal muscles and slowing carbohydrate absorption, which helps prevent fat accumulation. For germination of grains, it is recommended to soak them in cold water for 8-10 hours with subsequent water change, and then place them on moist fabric in a dark place until sprouts appear. Sprouts should be stored in the refrigerator. Contraindication is individual intolerance to components.
