YANTARA

Yantara is a variety of spring emmer wheat (Triticum turgidum L. subsp. dicoccum), characterized by medium maturity and high drought resistance. The plant is of medium height with strong pubescence on the upper node of the straw, while the ears have a cylindrical shape of medium length and density. The weight of 1000 grains varies from 38 to 49 grams, indicating good grain quality. The variety is semi-hull and belongs to the tashkentum type, which influences its technological and culinary properties.

Yantara exhibits high resistance to various pathogens, including stiff and dusty bunt, brown rust, powdery mildew, ear fusarium, and septoria. Thanks to these characteristics, the variety is recommended for cultivation in the Central zone of the Krasnodar Krai, Saratov region, as well as in the North Caucasian and Lower Volga regions. The average yield is 19.4 c/ha in the North Caucasian region and 16.3 c/ha in the Lower Volga, while maximum yield indicators reach 44.2 c/ha.

The Yantara variety is widely used for the production of dietary and eco-friendly products, making it in demand for pediatric and gerontological nutrition. Additionally, the grain is used for the production of high-protein feed. Thanks to its good culinary qualities, Yantara wheat is suitable for the production of pasta and confectionery products, as well as baby food products, highlighting its versatility and high nutritional value.
