Wheat KWS Sharki

German precision in spring wheat: Introducing KWS Sharki

In the competitive market of spring wheat, KWS Sharki stands out as a testament to German breeding excellence. Developed by KWS, this variety is engineered for growers who prioritize stability, consistency, and technological efficiency. It is designed to navigate the challenges of modern agriculture, specifically addressing disease pressure and the structural integrity of the crop throughout the growing season.

Agronomic resilience and health

What sets KWS Sharki apart is its comprehensive resistance profile. The variety is highly effective against common pathogens such as yellow rust, brown rust, septoria, and fusarium head blight. By reducing the need for aggressive fungicide applications, it offers producers a more sustainable approach to crop management. With a vegetative period of 90–100 days, it is perfectly suited for regions where timing and early maturity are critical for yield success.

Key performance metrics

• Grain quality: A thousand-kernel weight (TKW) of 50–55 grams, reflecting superior grain filling.
• Baking potential: Gluten content of 25–30%, meeting the high requirements of the milling industry.
• Stand density: Optimized at 4.5–5.0 million productive stems per hectare.
• Harvest security: Strong resistance to lodging, ensuring that the crop stays upright until harvest, preventing losses.

KWS Sharki offers more than just yield; it offers peace of mind. By resisting mycosphaerella leaf spot, powdery mildew, and rusts, the variety maintains leaf and ear health late into the season. For farmers looking to optimize their crop rotation with a high-performance spring wheat that delivers both quality and quantity, KWS Sharki represents a proven and reliable German-bred solution.
