The Lilek wheat variety is a hard spring wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) with a medium-maturity vegetative period ranging from 79 to 90 days. The plant is medium-height with a semi-erect tiller and medium straw height. The ear is cylindrical, short, white, and of medium density, with long white awns. The weight of 1000 grains varies from 37 to 45 grams; the grain is semi-elongated and white with a long awn. A waxy coating on various parts of the plant ranges from medium to very strong, contributing to resistance under adverse conditions. The variety shows lodging resistance at standard levels and surpasses the Volyndonskaya variety in drought resistance by approximately one point. Lilek is characterized by high resistance to a range of diseases, including immunity to powdery bunt, stem rust, and septoria, as well as high resistance to brown and yellow rusts, powdery mildew, and head fusarium. These qualities make the variety a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions. Average yield in recommended regions is around 17.9 centners per hectare, corresponding to the average standard, while maximum yield indicators reached 40 centners per hectare in the Krasnodar Krai. The Lilek variety is recommended for cultivation in the Rostov region and the North Caucasus region, where it shows stable results. Grain pasta quality is assessed as satisfactory, making it suitable for pasta production. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and disease resistance, the Lilek variety is promising for farmers seeking to obtain a high-quality hard wheat crop with good technological properties.
