OLHKHON — a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), characterized by medium maturity and medium height. This variety is distinguished by its high resistance to lodging, which ensures crop stability under unfavorable weather conditions. The vegetative period ranges from 204 to 275 days, and the mass of 1000 grains varies within 34-48 grams. The grain has an oval shape, red color, with a bare base and a shallow furrow, which facilitates good processing and storage.
The OLHKHON variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, Middle Volga, and Lower Volga regions, as well as the Central zone of Krasnodar Krai, the Azov and South zones of the Rostov region, and the Republic of Adygea. It possesses resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew, brown and yellow rust, powdery bunt, and septoria, which significantly reduces the risks of crop loss and the need for frequent fungicide application.
The yield of the OLHKHON variety is high and stable: on average, it reaches 39.4 centners per hectare, while maximum indicators can reach up to 89.6 centners per hectare under favorable conditions. In the Central Black Earth region, the yield is about 62.9 centners per hectare. The baking qualities of the grain are excellent, making this variety in demand for the production of quality flour and bakery products. The recommended sowing rate is 5 million seeds per hectare, which ensures optimal plant development and maximum productivity.
