UNIA is a type of hard winter wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) characterized by early maturity and versatility in cultivation. The vegetative period ranges from 250 to 280 days, allowing the variety to mature 5-8 days earlier than standard analogs. Plants reach a height of 80-94 cm, featuring a pyramidal head of medium density and semi-lengthened white grain with deep furrows. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 35 to 44 grams. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness, resistance to lodging, shattering, and root sprouting on stumps, making it a reliable choice for various agro-climatic conditions. UNIA is distinguished by increased plasticity and resistance to adverse biotic and abiotic factors, including drought and heat. It demonstrates high resistance to major diseases such as loose smut and yellow rust, septoria, and powdery mildew, with a stability rating of 7-9 points. The variety is recommended for cultivation throughout the territory of Ukraine and shows high yield—average yield reaches 53.3 c/ha, while maximum yield in certain regions, such as Krasnodar Krai, reaches up to 72.9 c/ha, with maximum yield potentially reaching 113.9 c/ha. The grain quality of the UNIA variety is classified as strong wheat, with protein content ranging from 12.0% to 14.4% and high gluten content (28.5-34.4%). Flour strength falls within the range of 445-480 arbitrary units, ensuring satisfactory pasta qualities. Due to its characteristics, the variety is suitable for cultivation in various agrotechnical conditions, including early and late sowing dates, and ensures a stable yield with minimal risks associated with weather and biological stresses.
