Uman'ska tsaryvna

Uman'ska tsaryvna — this is a soft winter wheat variety, created as a result of interspecific hybridization between soft winter wheat varieties Colombia and Myronovska 65 and winter spelt Zorya Ukraine. During selection, sample 6274 was identified, characterized by high productivity, resistance to adverse environmental factors, fungal diseases, and pests. During the competitive variety trial, the yield of the variety reached 7.21 t/ha, and the gluten content in the grain was 41.0%. The variety belongs to the medium-early group with a vegetation period of 259–273 days, distinguished by uniform stem strength and even ripening.

During formal and qualification testing conducted in 17 branches of various regions of Ukraine, the variety showed yields at the level of average indicators for the Polissia zone — 5.87 t/ha. It exhibits high resistance (8–9 points) to lodging, brown rust, and Swedish fly. The baking properties of the variety are good: dough strength by alveograph is 182–253 units, and loaf volume from 100 g of flour reaches 840–970 mm.

The variety Uman'ska tsaryvna is widely used in agriculture for producing wheat with high-quality grain suitable for flour, bread, and other products. Its agrobiological characteristics and resistance to various agronomic conditions make it promising for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine.
