Winter wheat variety Bogdana is a medium-maturing and medium-stemmed intensive-type variety with high yield potential and adapted to various climatic conditions in Ukraine, including the Polissia, forest-steppe, and steppe zones. This variety is characterized by high plasticity and resistance to adverse factors such as drought, frost, lodging, shattering, and pre-harvest sprouting, ensuring a stable and high yield even under challenging weather conditions. Bogdana responds well to fertilizers, making it suitable for intensive farming.
The quality of Bogdana wheat grain is characterized by high protein content (12.5–14.8%) and crude gluten (26.6–32.3%), providing excellent baking properties. Dough strength varies from 241 to 364 BU, and the volume of bread made from 100 g of flour reaches 829–1100 ml. The baking quality score ranges from 4.1 to 4.6 points, confirming the high value of this variety for food use and the food industry.
The Bogdana variety also exhibits resistance to common diseases such as powdery mildew and brown leaf rust, reducing the need for frequent use of protective agents and contributing to ecological production. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and grain quality, Bogdana wheat is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality yields under various climatic conditions.
