Wheat Zdoba Kyiv’ska

Field Performance and Reliability

The winter wheat variety "Zdoba Kyivska," developed by the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the NAS of Ukraine, is built for operational efficiency. With a plant height of 100-110 cm, it shows exceptional lodging resistance. For a farm manager, this simplifies harvesting significantly: you face fewer losses, and the combine header can operate at optimal speeds without the risk of downing crops.

Disease Management and Protection

Managing this variety is straightforward because of its built-in resilience. It helps reduce the reliance on intensive fungicide programs, as the plant actively resists common regional threats:

• Brown rust and Septoria: High natural resistance helps minimize chemical intervention.
• Root rot: Provides stability and consistent plant density throughout the season.
• Powdery mildew, Fusarium, and Mycosphaerella spot: The robust immune profile maintains grain quality, ensuring the crop remains marketable.

Yield Potential and Economics

With a vegetation period of 90-100 days, "Zdoba Kyivska" offers flexible scheduling for field operations. The grain size is notable, with a 1000-seed weight of 40-45 grams, which ensures strong emergence and early vigor. When following professional agronomic practices, the potential yield hits 9-10 tons per hectare. This variety represents a high-return asset that justifies the inputs through consistent performance and easy handling.
