Oktava

Octava is a high-yielding winter variety of soft wheat, recommended for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe regions, as well as all climatic and soil conditions in Ukraine. Plants reach a height of 104-112 cm and exhibit yields ranging from 7.8 to 11.9 tons per hectare. The variety demonstrates high adaptability to various agrofunds and preceding crops, making it a versatile choice for farmers.

Octava exhibits high resistance to a wide spectrum of phytopathogens, including brown rust, powdery mildew, leaf spot diseases, and Fusarium head blight. Additionally, the variety is characterized by cold tolerance, drought resistance, and resistance to lodging and shattering, which is especially important for late harvests and high humidity. These biological traits ensure the reliability and stability of crops even under adverse conditions.

The quality of Octava wheat is highly valued due to its protein content ranging from 12.8-13.4% and gluten content of 29-34%, meeting the standards for strong wheat. The grain has high flour strength (336-368 E.A.), making it attractive for processing. The variety positively responds to the application of nitrogenous mineral fertilizers, which helps enhance both productivity and quality of the harvest. Thus, Octava wheat combines high productivity, disease resistance, resilience to adverse factors, and excellent grain technological properties.
