Carmina is an early-maturing, elite winter barley variety characterized by an intensive growth type and high productive tillering coefficient. Thanks to its excellent spring regenerative capacity, this variety ensures the formation of a large number of productive stems, which contributes to increased yield. Carmina responds well to spring nitrogen fertilization, further improving plant growth and development.
The variety is adapted for cultivation on light soils and can successfully develop under challenging agro-climatic conditions. It demonstrates high resistance to major diseases and adverse environmental factors, including drought, making it a reliable choice for various regions of Ukraine, such as Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Poltava, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions.
The yield potential of Carmina is 6 to 9 tons per hectare. Recommended sowing dates vary from early (September 10–15) with a seeding rate of 2.8–3.0 million/ha to late (October 5–10) with a rate of 3.4–3.6 million/ha. Seed material is packaged in 20 and 40 kg bags, convenient for various scales of agricultural production.
