Description Roland
Winter wheat variety Roland, developed by Probstdorfer Saatzucht (Austria), is a new high-yielding variety with excellent grain quality. This variety is highly drought-tolerant, enabling it to successfully withstand dry growing conditions. Roland is a glumeless variety and exhibits excellent resistance to lodging, which helps maintain yield and facilitates harvesting.

In terms of baking quality, Roland belongs to the strong wheat category, characterized by high protein content exceeding 13.5% and raw gluten content above 28%. These indicators ensure high flour quality and favorable technological properties for bread production. In state trials in Ukraine, the variety demonstrated maximum yields of up to 10.5 tons per hectare, confirming its high potential.

Roland also exhibits resistance to major wheat diseases, including powdery mildew (resistance level 7), rust (4), yellow rust (6), and Fusarium (4). The recommended seeding rate is 3.8–4.0 million viable seeds per hectare, ensuring optimal plant development and maximum yield potential.
