Wheat Rogneda

Why «Rogneda» from IFVCNS is a reliable choice

When discussing winter wheat of Serbian selection from the Novi Sad Institute (IFVCNS), farmers often prioritize consistency. In the field, «Rogneda» performs as a predictable, high-yielding tool that does not require overly complex agronomic measures while delivering stable results.

Key Vegetation Indicators

As a grower, you will appreciate that this is a soft wheat variety known for its excellent plasticity to sowing conditions. Here are the core specifications to consider for your farm's technological map:

• Type: Winter wheat, soft variety.
• Weight of 1,000 kernels: 40–45 grams, providing a strong start for healthy seedling establishment.
• Potential yield: Reaches 9–10 tons per hectare under optimal management.

Practical Insights on Sowing and Harvesting

The IFVCNS Serbian breeding program is famous for its adaptability. «Rogneda» responds well to mineral fertilization, allowing it to reach its full genetic potential of 9-10 tons. When working with this variety, it is crucial to remember that it rewards proper care: timely fungicide protection and nitrogen applications across growth stages help prevent lodging and ensure grain weight remains within standard parameters. Harvesting is generally straightforward, as the grain quality is consistent, and the standard 1,000-kernel weight makes combine calibration efficient. In typical forest-steppe conditions, the variety demonstrates strong winter hardiness, which is vital for minimizing losses after the snow melts.
