Odessa 133

The Odessa 133 variety is a modern winter soft wheat of universal type, developed at the Selection-Genetic Institute. This variety is intended for cultivation in the steppe zone of Ukraine and is characterized by high yield, reaching 7.6–11.8 tons per hectare, confirmed by variety trials. Odessa 133 has a medium-height growth type with plant height around 98–102 cm and a vegetation period of approximately 283–285 days, ensuring timely ripening and high productivity. Odessa 133 demonstrates high resistance to extreme drought conditions, cold tolerance, and winter hardiness, rated at 8–9 points. The variety is also resistant to lodging, shattering, and grain germination in the ear, which helps maintain yield. Additionally, it shows good resistance to major fungal diseases, ensuring stable production across various agro-ecological zones and crop predecessors. The grain of Odessa 133 exhibits high quality indicators: 1000-grain weight ranges from 40.9–45 g, protein content is 13.2–13.8%, and gluten content is 29.4–33.6%. High dough strength (366–388 units) and grain density (860–875 g/l) make this variety attractive for the bakery industry. Due to its characteristics and versatility, Odessa 133 is widely used in agriculture for obtaining high-quality grain and stable yields.
