Octava Odeska is a winter soft wheat variety distinguished by high resistance to phytopathology and compliance with all requirements of the standard for strong wheat. This variety belongs to the erythrospermum type and is characterized by a white, spindle-shaped ear of medium length, ranging from 94.6 to 118.7 mm. The glume is ovate-lanceolate in shape, with a long and straight awn and medium-width shoulder. The thousand-grain weight is 42-44 grams, indicating large grain size. The variety is medium-maturing, with plant height ranging from 104 to 112 cm.

Octava Odeska demonstrates high yield — from 7.8 to 11.9 tons per hectare, exceeding national standards. It is versatile and suitable for sowing on various agroclimates, including the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones. The variety shows stable reaction to contrasting sowing dates and nitrogen fertilizers, as well as good tolerance to low agronomic conditions and late sowing. High resistance to major diseases, such as rust, stem rust, and powdery mildew, ensures reliable yield.

Key advantages of the variety include high cold and winter hardiness (8-9 out of 9), good drought resistance (7-8 out of 9), resistance to lodging and ear shattering. Grain quality is characterized by crude protein content of 12.8-13.4% and gluten content of 29-34%, as well as dough strength of 336-368 units. These indicators make Octava Odeska a strong wheat variety suitable for producing high-quality flour and bakery products.
