Maize MARADONA

Stable yields under high pest pressure

French breeding from Mas Seeds is renowned for its pragmatic approach to genetics, and the "Maradona" hybrid is a prime example. In intensive farming, where the risk of crop loss due to entomological factors increases every season, this corn hybrid acts as a vital tool for biological crop protection.

Why farmers choose Maradona

The primary scenario for using this hybrid is fields with a historically high background of aphid infestation. Instead of increasing the number of insecticide treatments—which drives up the cost per ton of grain and leaves chemical residues in the soil—agronomists opt for genetic resistance. Maradona allows for the optimization of field work schedules, saving on machinery logistics and labor costs by avoiding unplanned spraying during the crop's most vulnerable periods.

Practical cultivation tips

• Soil and climatic adaptation: Originating from France, this hybrid responds excellently to high-quality agricultural practices while maintaining plasticity under conditions of moderate moisture stress.
• Technological workflow: Incorporate this hybrid into crop rotations where corn occupies significant acreage; the plant's high immune status helps contain the spread of secondary infections often associated with pest damage.
• Harvesting: The hybrid shows uniform ripening, minimizing losses during harvesting and making it easier to calibrate machinery for optimal grain moisture levels.

By investing in seed from Mas Seeds, you are choosing predictability. Maradona is the ideal choice for farms aiming to reduce reliance on external variables and ensure a stable harvest, even in challenging entomological environments.
