Winter wheat variety Oleksiyivka is a recommended grain crop for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones. This variety is medium-early and characterized by cylindrical, medium-length white ears with a slight waxy coating and awns. Plant height is approximately 84-88 cm, and the 1000-grain weight reaches 46.5 g. The vegetation period lasts about 296 days, allowing the variety to successfully adapt to the regional climate.
Oleksiyivka has a high yield potential, reaching up to 6.4 t/ha (61.1 c/ha), especially when grown on fertile and irrigated soils. The variety exhibits high resistance to various diseases and stress factors, ensuring stable grain quality and quantity. The grain contains a significant amount of protein — from 14 to 14.3 % — indicating its high nutritional value.
This wheat variety is used for both food and feed purposes. Due to its high content of protein, B-group vitamins, vitamin E, lysine, and phosphorus, Oleksiyivka wheat is widely used in animal husbandry for producing compound feed. The grain moisture should not exceed 15 %, ensuring good storage and nutritional quality. Although forage wheat is not intended for direct human consumption, it is an important component of livestock diets.
