Olympia Odeska

Olympia Odeska — this is a winter wheat variety developed for cultivation in various agro-climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, forest-steppe, and steppe. This variety is characterized by high adaptability to climatic challenges and resistance to extremely dry conditions, ensuring stable yield even under adverse weather conditions. Plant height is approximately 95–100 cm, spike length reaches 9.2–10 cm, and 1000-grain weight varies from 48 to 52 grams. The potential yield of the variety reaches 115–120 centners per hectare (7.8–11.8 tons per hectare), exceeding national standards by 12–13%. The variety is characterized by high productive tillering — from 726 to 848 stems per square meter, with an average grain mass per spike of 1.2–1.6 grams. Olympia Odeska has strong wheat with protein content in grain ranging from 13.8 to 14.5%, as well as high gluten content — 28.8–29.5%. Dough strength is in the range of 366–388 arbitrary units, indicating high grain quality. Moreover, the variety is resistant to shattering and grain germination in the ear during storage, which enhances its commercial value. To achieve maximum genetic yield potential, intensive cultivation technologies with fertilizer application and root-zone fertilizations are recommended. The variety demonstrates good response to agronomic practices and features a balanced plant architecture. Olympia Odeska exhibits high cold resistance (8–9 points), drought resistance (9 points), and medium resistance to major diseases (4–6 points), making it a reliable choice for producers aiming to obtain high-quality products and maximum profit.
