Manticora

Manticora is a high-yielding hybrid of sweet corn, with significant yield potential and high resistance to various adverse factors. This mid-season, simple hybrid with FAO 320 is suitable for cultivation as grain, silage production, and also for biogas production. Thanks to its increased starch content and silica-ridged kernel type, Manticora is a versatile and profitable choice for agricultural production.

Plants reach a height of approximately 230 cm, with ear attachment height of about 120 cm. The harvest structure features 16-18 rows of kernels per ear and 44 kernels per row. Average yield over test years is 14 t/ha, with a potential yield of up to 21 t/ha, confirming the hybrid’s high productivity. Optimal plant population before harvest varies depending on moisture zone: 75-80 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered zones, down to 55-60 thousand plants per hectare in moisture-deficient zones.

Manticora exhibits high resistance to diseases and stress factors, including helminthosporiosis, fusarium, and powdery mildew, with resistance ratings of 8-9 out of 9. Additionally, the hybrid has high drought tolerance and lodging resistance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions. All these characteristics make Manticora an attractive option for farmers aiming to achieve high and stable corn yields.
