MIP Xenia is a spring wheat variety developed by the Myronivs’k Institute of Wheat named after V.M. Remesla, NAAN of Ukraine, and registered in the state register in 2020. This variety belongs to the leukomelan type and is characterized by an average early maturity with a vegetation period duration of 87-89 days. Plant height varies from 64.8 to 97 cm, with a strong and low-growing stem that ensures resistance to lodging. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe zone but also successfully adapts to various climatic conditions in Ukraine.
MIP Xenia is distinguished by high yield, with an average productivity of 5.36 t/ha, confirmed by results from farms where yields reach over 50 centners per hectare. The grain of this variety has high quality: 1000-grain weight is 47.4 g, grain density is 817 g/l, and hardness reaches 97%. The crude gluten content is 25.8%, and protein content is 14.2-14.5%, making this variety suitable for food use.
The variety exhibits high resistance to major diseases and pests, including powdery mildew, brown leaf rust, hard and powdery mildew, fusarium head blight, as well as pests such as the wheat fly and the wheat bug. Additionally, it is resistant to drought, lodging, and lodging resistance, ensuring stable yields even under unfavorable weather conditions. Thanks to these properties, MIP Xenia is a reliable choice for farmers seeking high-quality and stable wheat yields.
