Description MIP Perlin
The MIP Perlin wheat variety is a high-yielding, mid-season variety recommended for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions of Ukraine. The vegetation period is 260-275 days, and plant height ranges from 82 to 95 cm, making it a low-growing, lodging-resistant variety (9 points). The ear is cylindrical, medium density, glumeless, with white floret awns featuring 1-2 cm teeth. The grain is large, red in color, with 1000-grain weight of 40-45 g, and kernel density reaching 765 g/l with high gluten content (97%). MIP Perlin exhibits high resistance to major diseases and adverse conditions. The variety shows high winter hardiness (8.6-8.8 points), resistance to lodging (8.8-9.0 points), shattering, and pre-harvest sprouting. It also demonstrates high resistance to powdery mildew, leaf septoria, brown leaf rust, Fusarium ear rot, and root rots, as well as enhanced drought tolerance (8.5-9.0 points). Thanks to these characteristics, the variety is well-adapted to various climatic conditions and ensures stable yields. The potential yield of MIP Perlin ranges from 5.8 to 6.9 t/ha, with average yields in trial tests reaching 5.27 t/ha and maximum yields of 6.16 t/ha. The variety features high protein content (approximately 14.2%) and gluten content (27.5-29.8%), ensuring high-quality flour with dough strength of 188-285 W and excellent baking properties. MIP Perlin belongs to the group of premium wheat varieties, making it in-demand for grain use. The variety was developed in 2005 by crossing Quattro and Struna Myronovska, and officially registered in the State Register of Varieties of Ukraine since 2017.
