Description EG 4009
Corn EG 4009 is a high-yielding hybrid with high potential for grain production, intended for grain use. The plants are compact with strong stalks, providing resistance to lodging and enabling tolerance to extended stand times. The hybrid is adapted for cultivation in areas with sufficient but unstable moisture, and is suitable for loamy and clay soils. The optimal soil temperature for sowing is 9°C. Recommended planting density varies depending on moisture conditions: 70,000–75,000 plants per hectare under adequate moisture and 60,000–65,000 under unstable conditions. Yield on demonstration plots reaches 152 centners per hectare at grain moisture of 19%. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to stalk and ear Fusarium with a rating of 9.0, and possesses rapid water shedding ability, promoting timely maturity and reducing the risk of yield losses. EG 4009 tolerates monoculture well and requires medium to high levels of mineral nutrition to achieve maximum productivity. The grain is dent-shaped, yellow, with 16–18 rows per ear and approximately 43 kernels per row, ensuring high yield and quality. The hybrid belongs to the mid-season group with a FAO vegetative period of 320 and is suitable for cultivation in various regions, including steppe, forest-steppe, and meadow areas. Corn EG 4009 is also a valuable component of poultry feed due to its high content of nutrients and vitamins. The grain is rich in vitamins C, A, D, K, PP, as well as trace elements such as potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, and copper. High carotene content contributes to the brightness of egg yolks, which is especially important for laying hens and broilers. Corn supports rapid growth of young birds and good daily weight gain, and during cold seasons, it serves as an additional energy source, helping poultry better withstand low temperatures. Due to its low crude fiber content, the grain is well digested by poultry, making EG 4009 a universal and effective choice for agricultural enterprises.
