The MIP Aelita wheat variety is a high-yielding, mid-early, and intensive variety developed by crossing Quattro and Struna Myronovska in 2005. It belongs to the erythrospermum group and is recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine. The variety is characterized by high yield, reaching a maximum of 6.16 t/ha, with an average yield of about 5 t/ha over four years of testing. Plants are low-growing, up to 95 cm tall, resistant to lodging, drought, shattering, and kernel sprouting, ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions. MIP Aelita exhibits high resistance to major wheat diseases, including powdery mildew, leaf septoria, Fusarium head blight, as well as moderate resistance to brown rust and hard scab. The grain has high test weight — 765 g/l, 1000-grain weight of 41.3 g, and 97% vitreousness. The grain contains 27.5% crude gluten and 14.2% protein, ensuring high-quality flour. Sedimentation value is 51 ml, and flour strength is 188 arbitrary units, indicating good baking properties. Additionally, the variety demonstrates winter hardiness and high resistance to root rots. Moisture and grain quality allow producing flour with strength of 310–340 arbitrary units and loaf volume of 850–1200 cm³. These characteristics make MIP Aelita an attractive choice for farmers focused on producing high-quality hard wheat with high yield and resistance to adverse environmental factors.
