Maize KM 2020

Reliable harvest for the fresh market segment

The «KM 2020» corn hybrid by «Genex Ukraine» is a tailored solution for farms focused on the fresh consumption market. Developed by a team of breeders (Oksom V.P., Oksom L.L., Shabatko O.O., Karunnyi V.Yu.), this hybrid combines yield potential with robust genetic protection, making it a dependable choice for modern field operations.

Vegetation and planting parameters

With a maturation period of 75–110 days, «KM 2020» allows for flexible harvest scheduling across different climatic zones. As a simple hybrid, it offers excellent uniformity, which is essential for ensuring a high-quality, marketable product. To maximize results, the recommended planting density is 55,000 to 65,000 plants per hectare. This density ensures that each plant has enough space to access nutrients and moisture, optimizing final ear development.

Field resilience and pest control

The practical advantage of «KM 2020» lies in its field resistance. Agronomists specifically choose this hybrid for regions with a history of common corn diseases and high pest pressure. The hybrid shows strong tolerance against boil smut and damage from the European corn borer. This innate resistance helps farmers reduce dependency on intensive chemical treatments, lowering production costs while maintaining crop quality. Furthermore, its resilience against onion stem smut adds a layer of safety for farms practicing diverse crop rotations.
