Wheat Gentleman

Genetic Potential and Morphology

The «Gentleman» winter wheat variety, developed by RVA Ukraina, is a soft wheat cultivar engineered for high-intensity farming systems. Its genetic architecture focuses on maximizing ear productivity while maintaining adaptive stability against environmental stressors.

Biometrics and Grain Quality

The variety is distinguished by its heavy grain weight, with a thousand-kernel weight (TKW) ranging between 45 and 50 grams. This ensures strong germination vigor and robust early root development. The grain quality profile is consistent, with gluten content reaching 25–30%, meeting the commercial standards required for milling and processing industries.

Phytopathological Resilience

Genetic resistance is a cornerstone of the «Gentleman» variety, specifically regarding the most damaging pathogens of winter cereals. It shows remarkable resilience to Fusarium head blight—a major issue that typically causes yield loss and grain contamination through mycotoxins. Additionally, its inherent resistance to powdery mildew helps farmers optimize fungicide application programs, effectively lowering the overall chemical burden during the growing season.

Agronomic Advantages

The structural integrity of the stems provides excellent lodging resistance, a critical factor for producers utilizing high-nitrogen fertility programs. By preventing lodging, the variety ensures efficient energy transfer into grain filling, resulting in uniform maturity and predictable harvesting outcomes. The cultivar performs exceptionally well under well-hydrated and fertile conditions, making it a reliable solution for precision agriculture and high-output grain production.
