Wheat DONSKAYA STEP

Stability in Harsh Climatic Conditions

The winter wheat variety "Donskaya Step" is a breeding achievement from the Agrarian Scientific Center "Donskoy," specifically developed to withstand the challenges of unpredictable farming environments. This soft wheat variety is designed for regions where drought periods frequently alternate with high disease pressure, making it a reliable choice for farmers seeking consistent yields.

Phytopathological Resistance

The core value of "Donskaya Step" lies in its complex resistance to major grain diseases. The originator focused heavily on protection against factors that significantly reduce grain quality:

• Powdery mildew and septoria do not hinder the intensive development of the vegetative mass.
• The variety demonstrates a high level of tolerance to yellow and brown rust.
• The risk of Fusarium head blight is minimized, allowing for the preservation of commercial batch quality even during seasons with high humidity prior to harvest.

These traits allow agronomists to optimize the frequency of fungicide applications, effectively reducing production costs.

Technological Profile

The plant exhibits excellent lodging resistance, simplifying the harvesting process and minimizing losses even in high-input agricultural systems. The 1,000-grain weight ranges from 35 to 40 grams, providing a balance between spike productivity and seed germination energy. It is a field-proven solution for producers who require a dependable variety capable of maintaining yield performance under fluctuating weather conditions.
